Audience Feedback from our Production:
This video shows our media class analysing our media film. Each person was given a different focus point of our film. I will be responding to each individual's suggestions on how we could have improved our production. As well as this we also received positive comments from each member of our class, of what they personally liked about our film trailer. These comments related to the narrative, editing, camera and sound that we used in our trailer.
The first member of our class feels that at the end of the trailer, we could've extended the length of the soundtrack that is playing over the titles. However, I feel that we made the right choice to do this, as the soundtrack was broken up and disjointed to create tension at the end of the trailer.
The next person felt that our antagonist could've been wearing a more naturalistic costume. I agree with her suggestion, as it would've been more conventional to the genre. But we decided that we wanted to go against the convention by using the costume that we chose.
Another group member felt that we could have extended the use of jump cuts that we included at the end of the trailer. He felt that this would create even more tension, making the audience feel more involved with the production. I agree with this comment, as fast paced transitions highlight that there is a high level of action within the trailer.
The next suggestion that we received was to make the titles stand out to the audience in a more effective. I agree with this person's comment and believe we could've done this by varying the font of the titles in the middle of our production. This would've made them look more menacing to the audience, conforming to the conventions of titles in horror film trailers.
The final piece of constructive feedback that we received from one of our group members was related to the use of camera angles at the beginning of our trailer. She felt that we could of used more of a variety of camera angles. I agree with this piece of feedback and I feel that we could've achieved this by using low angle shots to open our trailer in the woodland setting. This would have given a more scenic setting to open the trailer, establishing the location of the trailer.
