Digital Technology in our Performance

Digital Technology:

Software: For our AS Media, we used the software of Adobe Premier Elements 10. We chose to use this software as it has a variety of features to edit and bring together film footage, such as zoom features, and transitions. Another piece of editing software that we used was movie maker.

Equipment: Throughout the production of our film, we used different pieces of equipment. One piece of equipment that we used in the production of our film was a camera. We used a Canon camera for filming the majority of the opening of the film, due to its high quality. As well as this, we also used an iPhone 7 to film the rest of the scenes, as its easier to access our footage, with high quality as well. In future, we would only use the iPhone as it is easier to use and has an equal quality of filming with a camera. To help keep the camera steady, we used a tripod. This ensures stability of the camera when filming, meaning that the quality of the footage will be higher. Our use of the tripod was good as we used it throughout the filming process, however I feel that we could have placed it in a wider range of positions, to create different effects for our audience when watching. Another piece of equipment that we used was a lamp. This was very useful as it helped provide low level lighting in dark scenes.

Pros and Cons: One of the pros of the technology that we used was that we used high quality pieces of hardware. An example of this were our choices of camera, to film the scenes. This was useful to us as it helped us create high quality footage. We also used a high quality piece of editing software, Adobe Premier Elements. which helped us edit our work to a high standard. I would definitely use this piece of software again, as it helped develop our work. Something that we would do differently with the technology is use 2 different cameras for filming. This is because it was difficult to gather and organise the footage from 2 different hardware devices.

Technology in our production and development: In the production stages of our opening sequence, we used cameras as technology to film the scenes. As well as this, we used PC's and Laptops to edit our opening sequence. For the development of our film, we used a PC to upload our footage onto the popular website, YouTube. This was effective as  it distributed our film to a wide audience.
