These images show our initial ideas for the storyboard of our film trailer. Although we feel that we will use the majority of these ideas in our final choice of storyboard, some ideas may change.

Final Makeup Choice

As a group, we have made a final decision on the makeup for our film's antagonist. We feel that this is a new and improved design compared to the original makeup idea that we had in mind, due to it's much improved detail. The use of the colour black connotes darkness and horror, which relates to the genre of our film. The use of the colour red, which is the makeup colour around the lips of the character, connotes death and blood, which could hint to our audience that he is a violent and aggressive clown. We still kept the original white foundation around Baily's face, as it builds a good base for the rest of the makeup on top, as well as it being conventional for the character of a clown. The images that are shown below highlight the makeup design, with the first picture showing more of the detail of the makeup features, whereas the other image shows Baily's face overall, which is more effective to show the final idea of the antagonist's appearance.

Completed Questionnaire Results

This picture shows to us our completed questionnaire, that was filled out by our target audience. These final results our very useful to us as a group as they can help influence and indicate our choices as a group.

Evil Clown Makeup Tutorial

The video that is shown above describes how you can use makeup to create the character of an evil clown. We feel that we will take several elements and ideas from this video to use for our antagonist of our film, such as the idea of heavy black eyeliner over a white foundation based face.

Bruise Makeup Tutorial

This video shows to us a tutorial for creating a bruising effect on a character using makeup. We feel that this could be a useful effect for us to use in our film trailer, as it could make it seem like they are hurt and injured.

Horror Questionnaire

Above is the questionnaire for our audience, so they can fill it out with the relevant information. We made sure to use questions that will get the opinions from our film's target audience. For certain questions, we have placed a box, in which people can give other answers if we haven't listed them already. This offers the audience the chance to choose their own unique answer.

Wanted Poster Idea

This is the original idea for the Wanted Poster that we will use in our film's trailer. The design is very simple, however we have used a number of different fonts and Text designs for the writing on the poster. An image of our film's antagonist will appear in the outlined box, so the audience can identify with the character.

Film Brainstorm

The image above shows to us our initial ideas for our film trailer. Some of the ideas that we have decided on using for the final production include our film's title "The Craze" and the storyline of the movie. However there are other elements that are still undecided, such as the backing soundtrack to the trailer.

Character Profiles

Character Profiles:

Shannon: One of the protagonists of the movie, she plays the role of a victim of the clown character. She is the sister of Sean, the other protagonist of the movie. She has a very shy and quiet personality, as well as being childish and immature, which is why she would fit the role of the stereotypical horror film protagonist.  Her personality would make the audience want to empathise with her.

Sean: The brother of Shannon and the other main protagonist of the film. Although he is similar to Shannon, has a slightly more confident personality, although he can also be a timid character. Due to this trait, it would make the audience want to empathise with him.

Baily (The Clown): The antagonist of the movie. He has a rough background, and is very lonely, having previously been in a psychiatric hospital. This drives him to make the choice to go out and take out his anger by dressing up as a sinister, evil clown out on the streets, to terrify the public.

Make up Ideas

Make Up Ideas:
The pictures that we have taken that are seen below show our initial ideas for the makeup of our antagonist. We have taken inspirations from both the main antagonist from the 2017 horror film
"IT," as well as the Joker, from the 2008 action adventure movie "The Dark Knight Rises."

This image highlights the facial expression of the character, showing an uncomfortable, evil glare on the character's face.

This image highlights one of the of the sides of the character, to show the makeup around the lip, as well as the black shadow around the eyes.

This shows to us the other side of the character's face, with the symmetry of the character's face on either side.

We took a final close up image of Baily staring into the camera. It shows the full picture and highlights all aspects of the character's makeup.

Soundtrack Research 1

Soundtrack Research 1:

One piece of soundtrack that we have found involves slow building tension and eerie sounds. We feel that it would be a good choice due to use in a scene where we would want to build tension.

The music intensifies at 0:31, which is the extract that we would use in our trailer. The soundtrack mainly contains white noise, which sounds like a gust of wind, that gives the effect of an abandoned setting, with high pitched chimes introduced further down the soundtrack.

Final Title Decision

Final Title Decision:

This is our final choice of title for our movie. We designed this title with the title designs from the website "Cool Text Generator."

We thought the style of silver text against a black background would be a good choice of design, as it sets a dark mood, and is conventional in comparison to other horror film title designs. The choice of a rigid and disjointed font works well as it will alludes that the film will involve chaos and uncertainty involved.
